Dinner Dance 2019

“An Evening of Elegance” STC OBA Dinner Dance 2019

As the title suggested an elegant crowd of Thomians, friends, sponsors and well-wishers gathered at the SCC to enjoy an evening of great food, music and dancing. Master of ceremonies Mr. Ravi Niles started things off with the opening ceremony and the raising of the college flag. Flag bearer and dance committee chairman Sumith Samarasinghe lead a large group of proud old Thomians into the grand ballroom. This was followed by the singing of the college song and President Jehan Ahamed’s speech.  Featured artist Judy de Silva along with local band Matrix kept the dance floor hopping all night. Special guest back by popular demand Roshan Thavaratnam, along with Thomian, DJ Chamil completed the great entertainment line-up for the evening. A special Mother Daughter set with Judy and Kanthie capped off this elegant evening.

Door prizes, raffle draws a baila competition and the very important midnight snack table kept the crowd engaged during the intermissions.

“This year’s dinner dance surpassed the last few I can remember.  My niece Kethika, who came down from Nunavut, North-West Territories was quite ecstatic about this dance. She won a prize last year.

Our congratulations to all in the Dance Committee, who must have worked very hard to pull this off.

My best wishes to all concerned”.

Warm Regards
