Celebration of Life 2012
The service closed with singing of the hymn for Ceylon. Our thanks to Sundari Selvadurai for the piano accompaniment in the service.
After the service we spent a time of fellowship with refreshments, reminiscing of our days at S.Thomas’ College.

Buddhists
The 21st of April 2012 was marked by bitter cold and gusty winds, an unusual site for the beginning of spring. Yet even Mother Nature could not deter Old Thomians from all religious backgrounds from gathering at the Mahamevnawa Bhavana Asapuwa in Toronto. A ‘Celebration of Life’, organized by the Buddhist members of the OBA was conducted to bless the families and friends of fellow Thomians.
At the Mahamevnawa Bhavana Asapuwa, Thomians, their families and friends offered alms to the residing monks. Prior to the offering, a short sermon was delivered by the resident Monk. At the conclusion of events, merit was offered to dearly departed teachers, old Thomians and members of the minor staff.
The STC OBA can take pride in the success of the occasion with approximately 35 people in attendance. We hope that this newly created tradition will continue in years to come.
