Sritharan who managed to score 22 runs, was the highest scorer for the Royalists. The Thomians, with a powerful display of batting managed to easily overcome the target, with Russell, Kaushal, and Gerhard making valuable contributions of 24, 44, and 20 runs respectively. The top bowler for the Royalists was Inbakumar, who captured three Thomian wickets for 13 runs. Rightfully, Gerhard Munaweera was named the man of the match for his valuable batting and bowling contributions.

 

The Mustangs game immediately followed with the Thomians being sent into field after losing the toss to the Royalists. One of the biggest highlights of the game was an elegant batting display by the veteran Rohan Jayasekera, who decimated the Thomian attack to score a well paced 111 runs. The pick of the Thomian bowlers was Ashok Senadheera, who managed to overcome Jayasekera’s initial onslaught, and capture four wickets for 39 runs. Leveraging off Rohan’s innings, the Royalists were able to post an imposing total of 266 runs for the loss of nine wickets. The Thomians following suit, responded with a stunning batting display, with Eraj Sirisena and Shantha Jayasekera scoring 103 and 64 runs respectively, to overcome the Royalists by five wickets. Eraj Sirisena was named the man of the match for his valuable innings.
