Membership Night 2017 – a memorable night

Our 2nd annual Membership night is in the books. A fun filled night of song, nostalgia and great food. We strolled through some cotton fields, went down a few country roads only to return happily to the green green grass of home. Everything from Woody Guthrie to Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck helped us reminisce and revere days of yore. There were many talents on display yesterday. The main stage band consisting of the silky smooth vocals and instrumentation of Shantha, Kumaru and Ravi. They were accompanied by many talented members like Vishan, Gihan, Daniel, Trevor, Gihan’s Wife Buddhika and Mrs Kail Rajah to name but a few.

There are many people to thank for planning and executing such a memorable night.  First my brothers in the EXCO, your support and hard work paid off and was noticed and commented upon by many an attendee. Mark Daswani your leadership in planning this event was inspiring, and you clearly went above and beyond with some heavy lifting during the week of and on event day. Shantha thank you not only for your great talent on the night but also for getting the chairs, Balen, Thank you for organizing the dinner for the event, The Hoppers by Sudarshan was flipping marvelous. Sureshan and wife thank you for the snacks and your help at the ticket table.  Prianthan your skills as the barman were greatly appreciated by all those who visited you multiple times through the evening. A big thank you to Sanjayan and the Actionzone team for allowing us to use their facilities. Thank you also to the EXCO for your generosity shown by all your donations in kind towards this event. Shantha, Ravi and Kumaru thanks for all your enthusiasm and talent in making this an evening to remember. Last but not least all those members and families who attended, Thank you for your support and participation, your enthusiastic singing struck a chord with all those present and contributed to a memorable night.
