A STC OBA Canada event that commenced last year has generated a lot of interest this<\/p>\n

year, with members and family from all religious groups showing a lot of interest. <\/p>\n

What is significant about this event is also that many non executive members will be<\/p>\n

in charge of the organization of each event.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Celebration of Life\u2019 is an event for family and friends of Thomians to gather<\/p>\n

in their respective temples and give thanks for the many blessings Thomians have<\/p>\n

enjoyed in this wonderful country, Canada.  While we celebrate as Thomians, it also<\/p>\n

gives us the opportunity to meet in prayer, offer alms and obtain merit and the<\/p>\n

fellowship that follows.  It also exemplifies the true Thomian spirit of religious<\/p>\n

and racial tolerance that was inculcated into us as students of STC in Sri Lanka. <\/p>\n

It is also timed to try and coincide as close as possible to the dawning of the New<\/p>\n

Year in accordance with the customs and traditions we all grew up with in Sri Lanka<\/p>\n

\u2013 the Sinhala & Tamil New Year.<\/p>\n
