Thank you to the approximately 40 staunch Thomians who attended the AGM on Oct 27th. Among the attendees were a few of the inaugural members, 1st President Wimsy Sinnatamby, 1st Secretary and Past President Chico Guneratna, 1st Social Secretary and Past President Malik Candappa (also returning current exco member) and Shantha Jayasekera. Past Presidents Thamal Perera, Trevor Fernando, DR Weerasinghe, Kumaru Wijesundera, and David Jayaweera also bore witness to the proceedings.<\/span><\/div>\n
Those in attendance witnessed the appointing of your 2018\/2019 executive committee.<\/span><\/div>\n
As the Protem Chairman David Jayaweera mentioned in his speech, the membership must have been extremely happy with the job that President Jehan Ahamed and his committee did in 2018 as there were no nominations received to replace any of the positions on the committee.<\/span><\/div>\n
Congratulations to President Jehan Ahamed on his unanimous vote to return as president for a second term.<\/span><\/div>\n
The President thanked out going committee members Prasad Jinesena, Trevor Fernando, Varuna Indraratne and webmaster Sathish Gnanakumar for their invaluable service last year and welcomes three new additions Sajeewa Peries, Duwaid Ismail and Thaya Thevathasan.<\/span><\/div>\n
